There is no doubt, meditation is one of the most important activities you can do for yourself. If you find it hard to find the motivation to meditate, you might benefit from using an app such as HeadSpace, or simply tune in to YouTube for some great guided meditations.
The YouTube guided meditations listed below are some of my favorites, but there are endless other good ones as well.
Look for guided meditations that suit your specific needs, such as managing anxiety, stress, sleep, depression and healing.
Below I list three meditations that I find highly beneficial.
The first is a very long guided meditation that induces deep sleep. Feel free to doze off to sleep whenever you want or complete listening to the full two hours to go through a life-changing process.
The second meditation is great for people suffering from anxiety, insomnia, OCD, depression and also for those who wish to silence their minds. It’s the best choice for those who are looking for a guided meditation that can serve as a preparation to their astral projection practice.
The third meditation is a short reminder to return to the present moment. Play it and play with it as many times as possible throughout the day.
Something to consider and keep in mind when choosing to listen to guided meditations on YouTube, especially with those longer ones that lead into sleep or altered state-of-consciousness work, is that unless you’re using YouTube Red, you may be interrupted by ads, which can ruin your process.
Guided Meditation for Deep Sleep, Create Your Destiny Hypnosis for Law of Attraction
This guided meditation was published on March 29, 2018 on Jason Stephenson’s Sleep Meditation Music YouTube channel.
Jason Stephenson opened his channel back in 2011 and has since populated it with more than 700 meditations, guided visualizations, inspiring talks and relaxation music that induces “changes of immense harmony for your body, mind and spirit.”
Meditation Type: Deep Sleep / Autosuggestion / Law of Attraction
Description: Sleep meditation where you can begin to manifest your destiny, your future before drifting off to a peaceful slumber.
Duration: 2 hours
Requirements: Being in a quiet place, where you will not be disturbed. Turn off any distractions.
Position: Lying down comfortably. Eyes closed.
The guided meditation I chose is one that would be highly beneficial to anyone who wants to experience better, more relaxed sleep as well as to those having difficulties falling asleep.
But it is much more than that.
By using the law of attraction, this meditation will guide you on how to magically summon whatever you want into your life.
How, or why, it works, you may be wondering?
The manifestation of reality begins in higher planes of existence, which are non-physical. From there the spiritual light which is the substratum of everything that exists dwindles gradually until the physical reality is formed, where our body exists.
If we could only affect things in the higher places of existence, we could then change reality as if we were gods…
It turns out this is completely possible.
In a state of very deep relaxation, simply create a thought of how you’d like to be, of what you want. Keep thinking about it until you fall asleep.
It will likely continue running in your mind while sleeping.
But magic in real life is not instant.
It takes time for changes in the mental plane to manifest in the physical plane. For best results, focus on just one intent, or wish at a time, and do so for at least several weeks or until you notice a change.
This process can also be thought of as auto-suggestion/self-hypnosis.
This guided meditation can also be used by people attempting astral projection. It has a trance induction component, guiding you to imagine climbing down a flight of stairs. But make sure not to be sleepy as you will very likely fall asleep!
Guided Meditation for Detachment From Over-Thinking (Anxiety / OCD / Depression)
This guided meditation was published on July 14, 2015 on Michael Sealey’s YouTube channel.
Michael Sealey opened his YT channel back in 2011. Currently, it contains more than 140 guided positive hypnosis meditations.
Meditation Type: Detachment from Over-Thinking
Description: Mindfulness meditation with the intention to help you create a state of your own relaxed, more observant, quieter and calmer mind.
Duration: 40 minutes
Position: Sitting down or lying down comfortably.
This guided meditation was designed to induce a calm detachment from unwanted patterns of over-thinking by encouraging a calm awareness of the breath.
If you’re suffering from any “cognitive/thought disorder,” such as anxiety, OCD, or depression, you may find this meditation quite helpful.
It can also help if you’re suffering from insomnia due to over-thinking.
But I would recommend it almost to anyone since we all tend to over-think on a day to day basis.
At the end of the session, you can decide if you’d like to drift into a night’s sleep or if you prefer to return to your wakefulness.
Out of the three meditations I bring here, this one would be the best choice for people attempting astral projection. After 40 minutes of relaxing your body and mind, move on to trance induction if you don’t feel the vibrations already or to the exit technique itself, if you do.
2 Minute Stop Meditation by Osho
Meditation is not just a cure to an ailment.
It’s also a state of bliss, one should aim to experience constantly. Consistently.
Why waste your life not feeling blissful, ecstatic all the time?
The third meditation I want to share with you today is one that you can practice many times throughout the day.
Anytime you have 2 minutes to spare – standing in line, walking somewhere, waiting for commercials break during your favorite TV show – just do it.
This meditation literally takes 2 minutes to complete.
It is guided by my favorite meditation teacher, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh aka Osho. You can find many more talks by Osho on the OSHO International YouTube channel, which was created back in 2006.
No special position is required for this guided meditation. Just be silent, close your eyes and feel that your body is completely frozen. Then:
Gather all your energies, all your consciousness, and rest towards the inner center of your being.
After 2 minutes, come back with the silence and grace of this meditative state. Just for a few moments be aware of the space to which you’ve entered.
What do you do during the silent period?
Just pure meditation.
Stop doing anything.
Just sit silently, passively observing anything that captures your attention, whether through the sense of hearing, an emotion or a mood, a tactile feeling, a spontaneous thought or anything else as if they were clouds floating in the sky of your being.
After 2 minutes of this stop meditation, you will emerge feeling peaceful, refreshed and more attentive.
Try to maintain this feeling until your next meditation break.
In our quest to being able to remain alone with ourselves in silence, we often can derive benefits from things that normally take us away from ourselves, such as music, videos and the computer/your mobile device.
If you are one of those people who knows they want to meditate but can’t find the motivation, try listening to one of the above guided meditations.
The first two guided meditations were focused around sleep problems and anxiety, however almost anyone can benefit from them.
Most of us need to sleep better and to be more relaxed, benefits offered by the first guided meditation I mentioned.
And over-thinking is another symptom almost all of us suffer from. Try the second guided meditation if you want to attain to more silent, serene mind.
If you’re a lucid dreaming or astral projection practitioner, any of the meditations will work amazingly.
And finally, if you’re short in time and just need a quick reminder to relax and return to present moment, then try Osho’s two-minute stop meditation, which was the last guided meditation I mentioned.
