What is Sleep Coaching?
Coaching is a relationship between a coach and a client in which the coach trains, supports and guides the client in achieving his or her goals.
Health coaches focus specifically on helping their clients deal with health issues.
Sleep coaching is a sub-specialty within health coaching, focusing on improving people’s sleeping habits.
If you suffer from a sleep disorder, your sleep coach will guide you through the process of getting evaluated by a sleep physician and going through a sleep study, if needed.
S/he will also be able to “audit” your daily schedule, diet, exercise and other lifestyle factors that may be negatively affecting your sleep.
Finally, the coach will create a step-by-step action plan to help you achieve your goals and provide support throughout the process.
Since sleep affects so many different parts of our lives, you will be amazed how much you can improve your life and health simply by getting better sleep.
Sleep coaching may help you not only if you suffer from sleep disorders, but (among other things) also if you:
- suffer from tension headaches
- want to lose weight
- want to improve your general health and brain performance

- want to prevent dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease

The interview may require 1 or more sessions. I will also ask you to maintain a food log and a sleep diary for two weeks using a sleep tracker when possible.
Based on the data you provide and your goal (e.g., get 7-8 hours of restful sleep every night, no more nightmares, stop being tired during the day…), I will design a detailed and personalized action plan that will help you achieve your goal.
You will then be able to choose if you want to continue on your own or remain in touch with me through regular meetings or phone calls.
